A £1.5m scheme to replace old streetlights, which has left some roads littered with lampost stumps, will not be completed until next summer.

Herts County Council is working with its highways contractor Ringway to replace aging streetlights.

So far, 133 have been replaced and a further 275 columns have been cut down and are awaiting replacement. Once this backlog has been cleared over the next two months, Ringway aims to replace other lamposts within a month of them being identified.
