A global toy manufacturer with its UK headquarters in Tring is celebrating after one of its products scooped the Best New Toy award at London’s Toyfair.
Revell’s Control Nano Quad was given the gong at the event in Olympia last week, and measuring just 4.5cm across, it fits snugly in the palm of your hand.
It can be flown both indoors and outdoors using remote control and is equipped with flashing lights to avoid collisions with the unsuspecting public.
Since its launch, the tiny gadget has attracted quite a lot of attention and favourable reviews in the toy world.
Electronic product review website Pocket-lint said: “It was so nippy that we had trouble taking photos and video of it when it wasn’t sitting on our hand. That’s a sure sign that it’s great fun.”
The Nano Quad costs around £35 and comes with a spare set of rotor blades in case your flying skills aren’t up to scratch. Working on a 2.4Ghz radio signal, the quadcopter has a range of around 50m.
The company’s national headquarters are in Germany, but its head office in Britain is in Orchard Mews, just off of Tring High Street.
