Staff at Pictons Solicitors, which has two of its four offices in Tring and Hemel Hempstead, have taken part in their very own great bake-off for a cause close to home.

The sweet event raised £160 for the Northchurch-based Hospice of St Francis.

The firm’s managing partner Sukh Saini said: “We have a lot of fundraising initiatives at Pictons to support the charities and communities in the areas where we are based.

“The ‘bake off’ is definitely one of the most popular and we’ve discovered we have some really great bakers in company. Luckily we don’t do it too often otherwise we’d also have to hold a fund raising’ diet day’, which just doesn’t have the same appeal!”

The hospice’s corporate fundraising manager Carolyn Addison said: “It is fantastic when companies like Pictons hold events like this bake off to raise money on our behalf.

“It’s a very imaginative way to get staff involved and of course, everyone loves to eat cakes. Every single cake that was bought has made a difference and helped to support our work at the hospice and in the local community. We are so grateful to Pictons and its staff for holding this event.”
