More than 100 people took their hats off to a 93-year-old who was just one of hundreds of volunteers honoured at a hospice’s annual thank you party.

Mollie Gosling has been helping out in Tring’s Rennie Grove Hospice Care charity shop since August 1995, and she won a prize for the most unique hat – which depicted items for sale in the shop – at the celebratory event at Micklefield Hall in Sarratt.

People were encouraged to attend wearing their favourite hats, as this year’s them was ‘hats off to volunteers’ at the party which served as a thank you to those who step up and help out doing jobs such as organising fundraising events, working in charity shops plus retail and trading work.

The charity’s chief executive Jenny Provin said: “We are very lucky to have so many wonderful volunteers who help us in lots of different ways.

“Holding an annual party is a small way for us to say thank you for everything they do for us.”
