Haresfoot Brewery will be officially opened by mayor of Berkhamsted Ian Reay tomorrow evening.
Beer being brewed at the River Park Industrial Estate site will be blessed by Father Tom Plant from the area’s St Peter’s Church.
Already Haresfoot’s debut beer, the 3.9 per cent Lock Keeper’s Ale, is being stocked in about 40 pubs in the west Herts area.
A second Haresfoot beer will hitting the pubs by the end of May – it will be a hoppy, golden ale.
But it does not yet have a name – you can suggest one at www.facebook.com/haresfootbrewery
If your name is chosen for the beer, Haresfoot will give you 2.5l of it for free.
Co-founder Nick Heath said: “We want to thank the community for how well the brewery has gone down.”
Haresfoot’s on-site shop is open from 4pm-7pm on Thursdays and Fridays and 10am-6pm on Saturdays. Berkhamsted’s last brewery, Locke & Smith, closed its doors in 1914.
