Double yellow lines to combat dangerous parking in Boxmoor’s Station Road are set to go ahead if all goes to plan.

Herts County Council has published a formal consultation to inform people of the plan for waiting restrictions on safety grounds.

Both commuters and those living in the landmark KD Tower have been blamed for parking on grass verges and blocking the view for drivers pulling out of St John’s Road and also taking up pavement space.

The county action comes after concerned householders called for action, saying it was only a matter of time before someone would be seriously hurt.

It is believed that London workers began parking their vehicles in Station Road last year when restrictions were introduced to stop commuter parking at the nearby Sportspace leisure centre.

An informal consultation was held earlier this year and now official public notices have been posted on lamposts to inform people of the plan.

The consultation runs until August 8 and any objections can be made by emailing terry.curtis@hertfordshire.gov.uk
