This year’s Poppy Appeal in Berkhamsted has been saved after volunteers came forward to run the fundraiser.

An appeal for helpers to ensure that the annual charity drive for servicemen and women and former forces personnel went ahead after not one but three people come forward.

Poppy Appeal community fundraiser Natasha Robertson said: “We have had a fantastic response and I am really thrilled that the community is coming together.

“Together the trio has ordered the town’s poppies and are busy putting together the rota for collectors.”

The new organisers – Keith Bayliss, Ivanna Zoodashna and David Eeley – are asking that people still come forward as collectors are needed.

Hemel Hempstead’s Poppy Appeal, usually one of the most successful in Herts, also needs more helpers.
