A woman who combines motherhood with running her own business has earned herself a place in the final of The Mumpreneur UK Awards.

Mum of three Joanna Miller, of Bourne End, runs Bespoke Verse - a poetry business creating witty prints and personalised poems for gifts and special occasions.

She has been shortlised for the ‘boost’ category - open to any business that can demonstrate extraordinarily high growth.

Having launched Bespoke Verse as a full time business in January last year, Joanna’s prints are already stocked in John Lewis, at notonthehighstreet.com, on her own website and 50 boutique gift shops around the country.

She has gone from working alone to a team of five writers and five part-time administrative assistants.

Joanna said: “I am delighted to have reached the final. My team of poets and admin assistants is entirely made up of working mums.

“The Bespoke Verse ethos is centred on allowing talented mums the freedom to work within school hours and in term times only.”

As well as being shortlisted for the ‘boost’ category, she will also be in the running of The Inspirational Business Mum 2014 on November 8, which will be awarded to the mum who is an inspiration to all women in business.
