YOUNGSTERS turned out to see what a revamped youth club has on offer to keep them entertained.

Gadebridge Youth Club, based in The Nokes, Hemel Hempstead, opened its doors on Saturday.

Around £1,000 has been splashed out on new equipment, including game consoles, a recording studio and a gym to entice teenagers off the streets.

Karen Watts from the group said: “It went really well. We were quite full.”

During the opening event, which ran from 2pm to 4pm, there was a performance by Dance Crazy, which meets at the centre.

The youth club, which is run as a charity, closed its doors in July after dwindling numbers meant it lost vital funding.

Now volunteers are needed to ensure the club is a success second time around.

There are also plans to create a youth committee to make sure youngsters are getting what they want from the youth club.

If you can volunteer or would like to know more about becoming a committee member, contact Karen on 07909 965724.
