DATA: Herts County Council has set up a new network which it hopes will provide greater security for data which is used by school and council services.

It has currently been rolled out to more than 500 schools across the county as part of a £20m contract.

A County Hall spokesman said: “It offers the ability to transport multiple organisations’ networks in a secure fashion, ensuring that their data is protected.

“The county council is migrating its services to the new network along with 541 schools in Herts.”
