Two elderly women living in sheltered accomodation were victims of distraction burglars who pretended to be checking on their security.
A pair of men entered the complex in Silk Mill Way on Wednesday, July 6, between 9.50pm and 10pm.
They then began approaching residents, claiming they had come to check the security due to recent robberies.
After asking residents where they kept any money or valuables so they could check them, they then stole cash from a woman aged in her late 80s.
A second woman, aged in her 70s, was approached by two men who said they had seen some people downstairs with cash and jewellery and they want to make sure that nothing had been stolen.
They then stole cash from the victim and took her bank card asking for her pin saying that they needed to verify that it was hers, before making off.
The suspects have been described as white, aged 20-30, of slim build, approximately 5ft 9in to 5ft 10in tall, with short dark brown hair. Both were wearing hooded tops.
The incidents are being linked and police are urging anyone who saw two people in the area, matching the descriptions given, to come forward. They would also like to hear from anyone with any other information.
