A HEARTBROKEN mechanic is searching for the woman he fell head over heels in love with on an internet dating site.

Michael Clinton has visited Hemel Hempstead every day since he accidentally lost touch with a divorced mum-of-two called Amanda, who he met on website Plenty of Fish (POF) last Friday.

The couple communicated for almost 12 hours and felt an instant attraction towards each other – Michael says that they even told each other that they loved each other just moments after meeting on the popular dating site.

Amanda told her suitor that she lived in Hemel Hempstead, was divorced with two children, has a bull mastiff dog, likes Chinese food, and enjoys going to the cinema and spending time with her two daughters, who are about 13 and eight years old.

Michael said: “It all happened last Friday when I saw her picture and sent her a ‘wink’ and she replied and it went from there. We chatted from 4pm to about 2am.

“We just clicked. I’ve been married before but I have never felt like this about someone before.”

Michael gave Amanda his phone number and she deleted her POF account – but then afterwards Michael realised he had given her the wrong number and he has been coming from his Hampshire home to Hemel Hempstead every day trying to find her ever since.

He said: “I know it sounds sad but I’m absolutely heartbroken. I’ve been to the police station, hospital and library in Hemel Hempstead to try and find her and I even asked Heart radio to put an appeal on air. It has only been six days but I’m pining after her.”

Since Cupid’s bow struck and the love loss that followed, Michael, who lives in Yateley, says he hasn’t been able to eat, sleep or concentrate at work.

He said: “I’ve joined the website again and my picture has a message for Amanda on it so that she will see it if ever she logs on.

“I’m not going to give up on her. I’ll be in Hemel every day showing people her picture and asking if they know her. I’ll be handing out my card with my number on it in the hope that someone will give it to her.

“Amanda is 43 years old, she’s really attractive and has long brown hair with a hint of red in it.

“She also has lovely eyes. She is stunning, absolutely beautiful.”
