Thursday’s by-election for Tring Rural Parish Council saw just a 28 per cent turn out.

Voters could head to either Long Marston Victory Hall or Wilstone Village Hall between 7am and 10pm.

Christopher Mann of Station Road, Tring, and Robert Briant of Tring Road, Wilstone, were the two candidates with most votes at 176 and 146 each respectively.

Mr Mann gave a brief thank you speech to Dacorum Borough Council staff for their hard work at the polling stations on the day, and during the count.

The pair will go on to fill the council’s two vacant seats.
