Berkhamsted’s defunct police station has attracted more potential buyers than any other in the county.
But there have been calls this week to make sure that the town doesn’t get sidelined as a deal is done for the prime site.
Herts Police Authority has closed eight stations across the county to help it cope with public sector cuts.
The buildings went on the market in September – and this week it was revealed that the plum corner site previously providing a base for Berkhamsted police has attracted no fewer than 17 offers. One will be chosen as the final buyer within the next few weeks.
