Road repairs overhauled

A shake-up in the way roads are maintained in Herts will take place at the end of September when the current contract expires.

The £35m a year contract has been held by Amey Lafarge JV and Mouchel for 10 years but Ringway Infrastructure Services Ltd will take over.

Critics have attacked Herts Highways for being ‘high cost and low performing’ but bosses say they have put extra cash into maintaining the ‘busiest roads in the country’.
