School’s hockey pitch ‘will lead to riots nearby’

PLANS to build an astroturf hockey pitch on Green Belt land have been blasted by more than 20 of its neighbours.

They spoke out against the plans for Kitchener’s Field at a meeting of Berkhamsted Town Council on Monday.

Then councillor Garrick Stevens said the pitch would cause havoc on the roads: “I can envisage regular riots all around Berkhamsted Castle if this goes ahead.”
