Rennie Grove Hospice Care has opened registration for its 2015 Chilterns Cycle Challenge with a special discounted Early Bird offer for those who sign up before Sunday, November 30.
The Tring and St Albans-based charity is hoping that regular participants in the event will take advantage of the offer to sign up again and start fundraising early.
Next year’s event, which takes place on Sunday, March 22, will mark the fifth time the Chilterns Cycle Challenge has taken place.
Once again it will be supported by television presenter Fern Britton.
The course, which starts and finishes in Aylesbury, is suitable for everyone from those new to cycling, people who want to ride through the beautiful Chilterns countryside and the more committed cyclists.
With a 10k, 35 mile or 75 mile route to choose from there should be something to suit all abilities.
The Early Bird Adult entry to the 10k route costs £15 (normal cost £17), £17 for 35 miles (normal cost £20) and £27 for the 75 (normal cost £30).
Child entry is just £7.50 (normal cost £10) and under 5s are free. The entry fee includes a T-shirt, medal and water along the way.
Last year the Chilterns Cycle Challenge attracted more than 500 participants. It raised around £40,000 to support the charity’s nursing and support services for local patients with cancer and other life-limiting illness.
Rennie Grove says that £32,000 funds one of its specialist hospice at home nurses for a year.
Events manager Ruth Proudfoot said: “We hope people will take advantage of our early bird offer.
“This could also be a great opportunity to buy a place for someone as a Christmas gift and is the perfect incentive to get fit in the new year!
“We are hoping 2015 will prove even more popular than previous years, so don’t delay; sign up now to guarantee your place.”
