Silver medal London Olympian Michael Jamieson inspired young swimmers when he paid a visit to Tring’s Sportspace.

Youngsters got a chance to train with him and hear about his preparation for the Olympic Games including how he coped with the nerves of competing in front of a home crowd.

He was helping out fellow Olympian Craig Gibbons at one of his hugely popular Swim Vision Clinics during the weekend, which helps club swimmers to improve their stroke technique.

Spokesman for Sportspace Hayley Hobley said: “The sessions proved very popular and all who took part in the session were given the opportunity to have photos with both Olympians and Michael’s silver medal, as well as get their autographs.”

After his visit Jamieson launched the Glasgow Commonwealth Games 2014 ticket application process to the world’s press on Monday.
