An independent travel agents has raised £700 for the Make A Wish Foundation by running several tombola events.

Staff from Travel Impressions – based in Tring town centre behind Costa Coffee since 2011 – ran the popular events at Tring Carnival and Marsworth Classic Vehicle Rally during the summer, with prizes donated from tourist boards and holiday companies.

Prizes up for grabs included chocolates, soft toys, luggage labels and laptop cases.

Company director Sarah Watson said: “We decided to raise money for Make A Wish because some of the wishes they grant are holidays for children, so it was that connection really. We think it’s a really worthy cause.”

Charity volunteer Keith Woodwards was happy to receive the cheque on behalf of the foundation, which will go towards helping youngsters who are suffering from life-threatening illnesses.
