Smiles all round for groups given money by comedy club

STARS of the comedy world drew crowds to raise thousands of pounds for organisations in Tring.

The Explorer Scouts, Iain Rennie Grove House Hospice, Help For Heroes and campaigners raising money to rebuild a play park in Mortimer Hill will be helped with a cash donation of £1,000.

The money comes from the Get Stuffed Comedy Club’s week-long comedy festival called the Tringe, which was held last year.

Director Ben Moorhouse said: “I want to use the upcoming gig with Chris Ramsey as an opportunity to hand out the cheques.”

More than 20 acts performed for hundreds of fans in the town during last year’s festival

Currently Mr Moorhouse is working on securing acts for this year’s event and has already booked Stuart Francis.

Other fundraising plans in the pipeline include a Mitch Benn gig as Tring School to raise money for its pupils to go on a trip.
