Sports clubs racing to secure freehold future

SPORTS clubs could have to urgently arrange more fundraising initiatives to help pay for a deal which would secure their futures in a town.

Pendley Sports Centre, which includes five of Tring’s most popular clubs, is negotiating with land owners Pierdor Enterprises Ltd to buy the freehold for Cow Lane.

But in a letter to members, Tring Rugby Club chairman Peter Borg-Neal said the club will be urgently launching more fundraisers to pay for its share of the deal.
