A BRAVE bloke dressed as a dame raised almost £350 as he had his legs waxed for charity.

Craig Hyder of Warners End braved the treatment torture to support the Northchurch-based Hospice of St Francis at Ambers Beauty in Long Chaulden on Saturday.

He said: “Friends of ours work for the hospice and it seemed like something good to do. They looked after my cousin John Blackmell when he was dying.

“I thought I should do something to help them raise money.”

Craig, 41, who works as a PCSO, added: “It was painful at first but only for a second when they ripped the hair off, but then it was fine.

“It is an experience more men should go through, for a laugh.

“I would like to thank Ambers for doing it for me.”

Craig will also take part in the Dame For A Laugh fun run on Sunday, April 1, and you can sponsor him at www.justgiving.com/craig-hyder
