Teenage girl raped as she walked through shopping centre car park in Milton Keynes

A 17-year-old girl was raped in an open air car park in central Milton Keynes in broad daylight on Sunday.

The teenager was grabbed by a man as she walked through the car park close to the shopping centre between 12.45pm and 1pm.

Det Chief Insp Kelly Glister said: “This incident took place on a busy Sunday in the centre of Milton Keynes and there would undoubtedly have been people who saw or heard something when it happened.

“It may be that you saw two people having some kind of altercation, or saw someone being attacked, or maybe you saw a young woman who appeared distressed, or a man acting suspiciously.

“It is vital that we establish the circumstances around this incident, and ascertain exactly what happened. I would like to speak to anyone who has any information, no matter how insignificant the detail may seem to them, as it could be vital to our investigation.

“Thames Valley Police takes all reports of this nature extremely seriously and we are conducting a thorough investigation.”
