A 16-year-old girl was kissed on the hand and cheek by a stranger in a sexual assault in Hemel Hempstead, police said today.
At around 9.20am on Sunday, October 4, the victim was walking along Bennetts End Road towards Jarmans Park.
She was near to the roundabout junction with the St Albans Road when the offender approached her and starting talking to her.
He then kissed her on the hand and cheek before the girl managed to push him away and he walked off towards the town centre.
The suspect is described as a white man with a light tan, aged between 25 to 35, of slim build, around 5ft 6ins tall, clean shaven, with short dark brown hair.
He spoke with an Eastern European accent and was wearing a dark blue zip-up coat.
It is believed his name began with a B.
Police are now appealing for witnesses and information which could help the investigation.
PC Steve Taylor said: “Whilst the victim was not injured, understandably this was a distressing incident for her and her family.
“I would appeal to anyone who was in the area that morning and saw what happened or who may have seen the man described acting suspiciously to please contact me.”
