USERS of a village hall will feel the warming benefits of a new roof and insulation thanks to a cash injection.

County Councillor Nick Hollinghurst has given £2,500 from his locality budget towards work at the Long Marston and Puttenham Victory Hall.

The current roof of steel sheets allows condensation and ice to form in the hall during the winter months.

Part of the cash will also go towards extra insulation at the building based in Station Road, Long Marston.

Mr Hollinghurst said: “The hall is very well used as a venue for a whole range of activities and events that benefit the local community, so this refurbishment is essential.

The rest of the money needed has come from the parish council and local fundraising efforts.

Each county councillor is given £10,000 under the locality budget scheme to spend on worthwhile projects.
