A TOWN centre street is in a bit of a state at the moment.
But that’s only because Berkhamsted High Street is in the middle of being resurfaced.
Herts County Council sent workmen to begin the project on Sunday. The area of road was shut between 8am and 5pm while its old, worn-out surface was removed.
Workers will go back this Sunday between the same times to install a new, smoother surface while the road is closed again.
The High Street resurfacing is being carried out between Lower Kings Road and Swing Gate Lane.
Council spokesman Jo Brown said: “We would ask that residents refrain from parking on the road in the area of the works.”
