MORE roadworks have been announced for Hemel Hempstead, which will add to a number of works already taking place across the borough.
As the major works currently under way on the Magic Roundabout draw to a close later this month, repairs will take place on September 1 on Leighton Buzzard Road to finish work already started earlier this summer.
The road will be closed from the roundabout at the B487, northwards to the roundabout at Galley Hill.
Stuart Pile, cabinet chief for highways and transport at the county council, said: “Earlier in the summer we carried out preliminary patching work and joint-sealing on the Leighton Buzzard Road and, now that these have had a chance to bed in, our crews are returning to finish off the job.
“This stretch of road has suffered during the last few winters, so we’re repairing the road now in order to reduce the damage that any severe weather this winter might cause.
“Some degree of disruption and delay is to be expected as a result of these essential maintenance works in this busy area. Please allow extra time for any journeys you may make while work is in progress.”
Works are already under way across the borough including resurfacing works in Berkhamsted High Street.
