Train journeys have been severely disrupted today after emergency engineering works had to be carried out in Tring.
Workers were left stranded after around six morning services were cancelled from the station as engineers carried out repairs to a crack in a rail.
London Midland tweeted the problem from its official account at 08.48am, before follow-up tweets stated that additional stops would be made at Kings Langley and Apsley on services between London Euston and Milton Keynes Central.
Operators Virgin and Southern also had services suffer due to the works, with several trains either severely delayed or cancelled.
It has been confirmed that London Midland passengers can use their tickets on the London Overground service between Watford Junction and London Euston.
Network Rail’s website states that disruption is expected to continue until around 3pm today, and urges passengers to check before they travel.
A London Midland spokesman said that they were waiting for confirmation from Network Rail before the line could be reopened.
