MORE than 6,000 people have paid tribute to murdered Billy Dove on a special Facebook page made for him.
Flowers and tributes have also been left at the spot where the 21-year-old was murdered in Hemel Hempstead town centre.
Pints of beer, Arsenal t-shirts, flowers and cards have been laid around a tree by people who knew him.
The area outside Greggs bakery, where he was stabbed, has become a sombre scene as members of the community gather and stand in silence as they try to come to terms with what has happened.
Tributes have been pouring onto Facebook since the young man was murdered on Sunday morning.
A Facebook tribute page called RIP Billy Dove !x has been liked by 6,456 people and members have been using the page to express their sadness and anger.
Many of Billy’s friends have also changed their profile pictures to images of him.
Billy was a former student of West Herts College and today its principal Gill Worgan told The Gazette: “Billy’s time with West Herts College was spent studying a one year course in IT, which he completed in 2007.
“It is tragic to hear of the passing of any former student, especially one so young. Our thoughts at this time are with Billy’s family and friends.”
Billy died after being stabbed at 1.30am on Sunday.
Police have appealed for help and two 17-year-old boys from Hemel Hempstead have been arrested on suspicion of murder and are being questioned by investigators.
