12-599 Tring Summer Carnival. Bishopswood School.

THE people behind the carnival in Tring have said a big thank you to all the people who helped make it a success.

The event got off to an enjoyable start with almost 4,000 people turning out at Pound Meadow on Saturday to see the Olympic-themed parade arrive and take part in activities.

There were 600 children in the procession that started in Christchurch Road and travelled down the high street to the carnival site.

Ferret racing, tug of war, steam engines and a variety of stalls kept people amused throughout the day.

Vivianne Child of Tring Together, which organised the event, said: “Thank you Tring! Thank you to everyone that took part and to all our wonderful sponsors and stallholders and helpers, without whom the event could not take place.

“We’re already thinking about next year and if any local company wants to be a major sponsor or join the organising committee please contact info@tringtogether.org.uk”
