A dirty pair of briefs

A solicitor who played a key part in the battle for compensation following the Buncefield disaster has landed himself a new high profile case.

Des Collins, from Bovingdon, is representing residents from a town in Scotland who claim North Lanarkshire Council failed to properly clean up a toxic industrial site before building more than 100 homes on it.

Mr Collins described the council as 'wholly irresponsible'.

Collins Solicitors claimed victory in a similar case a year ago when it was shown that Corby Borough Council had been negligent in cleaning up industrial areas, causing birth defects in children.

The firm is representing hundreds whose homes and livelihoods were damaged by the Buncefield blast.
