Brave women put a bold front on a project to raise money for Breakthrough Breast Cancer.

Ladies ready to bare all descended on Tring for the photo shoot, which will see their breasts made into limited edition designer wallpaper by artist Sam Pooley.

She will be exhibiting her work, which she hopes will include more than 1,000 pairs of breasts, for her art degree show at Birmingham City University School of Art later this year.

The artist is raising cash for charity by hosting raffles and taking donations during the photo sessions.

More than £500 was raised at the Tring event, which was hosted by Pippa Gill of Dancers End.

Almost 50 ladies took part, ranging in age from 20 to 70

Pippa said: “We’ve concluded from the photographs that no one is perfect so it’s quite liberating, and that was the whole point of it.”

Taking part in the shoot was pal Veronica Montgomery, along with her sister Helen Nicell who is currently battling breast cancer.

They lost their mother Patricia Brown to the disease in 2009 and Veronica is currently considering a double mastectomy.

The 42-year-old said: “I have lost my entire family to cancer from grandparents, uncles and aunts and now it is just me and my sister.

“I have got two young children – aged eight and five – and I can’t go through what my sister has gone through.

“I’m a single mum, I have got to be around to look after my children – there is nobody else left.” Speaking about the Tring photo shoot, she said: “It was fun. It was so quick. You literally just took your top off, put your hands above your head and she took a few snaps.”

Other women who took part have now pledged to host their own shoots for Sam.

“It has turned into the new Tupperware party,” said Veronica.

Once Sam’s art exhibition has been held, she hopes to sell the limited edition wallpaper to those that have taken part and also wants to get major retailers on-board to generate more income for Breakthrough Breast Cancer.

Veronica said: “It’s the sort of thing you can put in your downstairs loo and get away with it.”

Sam is travelling up and down the country until March to take the pictures. To get involved email sam@ilovecompost.com
