Age no barrier as old and young do the business

Young and old both pulled out the stops to record good wins for Tring Hockey Club.

The U14 girls and SuperVeterans, for players over 50, scored nine goals combined and conceded none.

The youngsters beat rivals Aylesbury, Molly Beard opening the scoring after picking up a fine pass from Livy Vize.

Super interplay between Megan Sawh, Christina Slater and Abi Lawlor led to Rebecca Prentice doubling Tring's lead and Molly Beard bagged another to seal the win.

Goalie Libby Marsden was in fine form to keep the goals conceded stat at zero.

The SuperVets, featuring an unfamiliar defensive line, started slowly against Surbiton but once they were up to speed never looked back.

Tim Spencer scored three quick goals following good work by Mark Gillett and Jim Watson.

Tring's domination continued in the second half and, as Clive Hicks, Steve Warr and David Wright completely overran the Surbiton midfield, Jim Watson, Mark Gillett and Tim Jefferies notched to make it 6-0 at the whistle.

The other Tring side to pick up all the points were the men's IIs.

They were 3-1 up at the break against high-flying Henley thanks to a first half hat-trick for star man Russell Pert.

Second half strikes from Will Holderness and Nick Smith helped them to a 5-2 final scoreline.

The men's first team continued their recent disappointing run with a 4-1 loss at Wycombe, while a depleted IIIs side went down 3-1 to the same opponents.

The development team couldn't continue their recent good form and lost 4-1 to Leighton Buzzard, Dudley Moor-Radford scoring the consolation.
