Alcohol off the menu

A popular Indian restaurant has left customers feeling mythed – because it has stopped serving alcohol.

The Jubraj, which has been in The Forge Car Park, Tring, for around 30 years, has left customers alienated by its sudden decision to no longer serve alcoholic beverages with its food.

Demand from punters for alcohol in the eatery is so strong that more than 180 people have joined a group on social networking website Facebook demanding for alcohol to return to the menu.

Members of Get Alcohol Back into the Jubraj have been speculating over why the restaurant has made the decision and some have said they will no longer eat there.

Group creator Bruce Sherring-Lucas, 47, of Friars Walk, Tring, said he was "horrified" the restaurant has gone tee total and was in disbelief over how quickly people have joined the group.

"It is staggering in only a week. The strength of feeling out there is quite powerful. There are some people upset about it," he said.

Restaurant manager Monnan Miah said getting rid of alcohol is a business decision.
