The owner of a beauty spa says her profits have rocketed thanks to a government enterprise initiative.

Angela Douglas defied the recession and shocked her bank manager by recruiting two new staff and nearly doubling the size of her business in the past year.

She took her first Business Link course in beauty therapy at West Herts College when she was 21 years old.
