Big week for title contenders
As the old saying goes, seven days is a long time in politics...and football.
Tring manager Phil Casserley knows this, and has his sights firmly set on making the most of a tough week ahead.
His side are now in pole position in MSSML Premier Division, despite their game at home at Hatfield Town being called off.
Chalfont, who are top of the table, lost 3-1 to Oxhey Jets on Saturday but beat Dunstable Town last night (Tuesday), meaning Tring will go top if they win their two games in hand.
They host Harefield this Saturday, and follow that up with a match at home to Welwyn Garden City on Tuesday and a trip to Dunstable Town on Saturday.
"We are in a good position but there are 14 games to go, 42 points to play for, it only takes a little blip" he said.
"If we can take seven points from the next three games we will be in really good shape still."
With games against Hanwell and Hoddesdon called off last Tuesday and Thursday respectively, by the time they take to the pitch at Cow Lane Tring will have gone a fortnight without a game.
A side that likes to keep the ball rolling when it comes to playing matches, Athletic could be lacking some sharpness for Saturday's game.

Leverstock Green's game with St Margaretsbury was also called off on Saturday because of a waterlogged pitch.
They host Haringey Borough tonight (Tuesday) and are at Langford on Saturday before hosting Dunstable on Tuesday evening.
