Call for old tools

A charity scheme is calling for old tools to help change the lives of people living in poverty.

Collections will be held across Dacorum during April for people to drop off old tools for the Workaid charity.

Workaid, based in Bucks, refurbishes second-hand tools to help people in poverty in Africa earn a living.

It is seeking tools for blacksmiths, carpentry, engineering and metalworking, bicycle repair, shoe repair, automechanics, and electrical repair.

It will also take industrial quality power tools and some sewing machines.

Hemel Hempstead Rotary Club will be collecting from outside Homebase on London Road in Apsley on Saturday, April 10 from 9am to 5pm, and on Sunday, April 11 from 10am to 4pm.

Berkhamsted Bulbourne Rotary Club will be collecting on Berkhamsted High Street on Saturday, April 10 and Saturday 17 from 9am to 4pm.

It may be possible to arrange for a collection by calling John Palfreeman on 01442 251160.
