Church community hall plans scrapped

PLANS for a new community hall in the grounds of a village churchyard have been scrapped in response to opposition.

Proposals for the base at St Lawrence Church in Bovingdon were revealed to the public in June last year.

Hopes were to replace the existing 75-year-old listed hall in Vicarage Lane with a new base within the grounds of the church.

The group behind the proposal – the Parochial Church Council – is now investigating other options.
