Latest crime figures are showing a 10 per cent drop in recorded offences in Herts.

The Home Office statistics – comparing the year to June with the same period in 2011 – show burglaries fell by 17 per cent, vehicle crime by nine per cent and robbery by 12 per cent. Nationally crime fell by six per cent.

Herts chief constable Andy Bliss said: “These figures show that Hertfordshire Constabulary officers, staff, specials and volunteers are focused on our key policing aims of reducing crime, catching criminals and keeping people safe.

“This could not have been achieved without the support of our partners and the public of Hertfordshire.”
