Dancing in quality street after success

Dance pupils twirled to the sound of success after excellent results in their exams.

Students at The Challis School of Dance on Western Road, Tring, helped the school to a 100 per cent pass rate in RAD ballet exams.

Teacher Gwen Hallam said: "All the children have been involved in one way or another and they have been outstanding results.

"They have really done very, very well and the school has always had a 100 per cent pass rate which has been maintained."

All pupils at the school, which is in its 10th year under the leadership of Jenny Challis, received either an A or a B grade.

The school also boasts one pupil, 15-year-old Jessica Arnold, who took part in the National Youth Ballet's latest production at London Palladium on September 5.

Miss Challis said the school has pupils from age two to 26 and those aged between four and 16 took exams.

"The effort they put in has been amazing," she said.

"They come in twice a week for lessons and they work very hard and give up their time to practise at home and the parents support them by bringing them to lessons." The school is also unveiling new Baby Beats pre-school classes and a parent and child dance and movement class called Ballet Beats.

Bouncy Beats is also new and is designed to get children moving and introduce them to dancing in fun and exciting classes.
