Delight for academy's up and coming aces

Four potential stars of the future served up top performances at half term tournaments.

Ronald Mataba was one of two Berkhamsted Elite Tennis Academy players to lift a trophy last week.

The 15 year old, who represented Rwanda in the Davis Cup in 2009, won the U16 boys final at Batchwood Tennis Centre while fellow BETA member Georgie Gosen took the U16 girls title at Coolhurst Lawn Tennis Club.

The 14 year old was competing in her first tournament in two years after struggling with a knee problem.

The county's number one U16 Adam Coyne, also 15, was runner-up in the U18 boys while 15-year-old Ellie Casey was runner up at Coolhurst, beaten by her club-mate.

BETA director Tyrell Diaz Stevens said: "These are four players we think can really go on and do well in the future."

The academy, based at Berkhamsted Lawn Tennis and Squash Raquets Club, is looking for sponsorship for both Ronald and Adam to enable them to travel to international events during summer.

If you are interested call Tyrell Diaz Stevens on 07758631270 or email info@betacademy.co.uk.

Ronald Mataba showed his promise with a half term tournament win.
