A lifetime’s worth of work by an artist who passed away last year is to go on display.

The exhibition will show the development of Sheila Jackman’s work from her art school days to her later powerful illustrative style.

She arrived in Hemel Hempstead aboard a narrowboat with her art teacher husband Richard Jackman in the 1950s before setting up home in Boxmoor, where she passed away in October aged 83.

The display will be held at the Peter Ingram Gallery at the Frogmore Paper Mill in Apsley from Tuesday, February 19 to Thursday, February 21 and Sunday, February 24 during the mill’s normal opening hours of 10.30am to 4.30pm. Visitors will also be able to purchase some of her work.
