Police seized ecstasy, cannabis and Ketamine when they raided a house in Berkhamsted.

After forcing their way in, the officers arrested 20-year-old Daniel Laskowsky who said: “I have been caught red-handed,” St Albans Crown Court heard on Friday.

Prosecutor Alison Ginn said police had a drugs’ warrant when they went to Laskowsky’s home in Robertson Road, Berkhamsted at 9am on July 19 this year.

When they got no reply to a knock at the door they forced their way in and were confronted by Laskowski who told them: “I have got cannabis and MDMA in the bedroom. I will show you.”

He handed over a JD Sports bag containing drugs in Tupperware boxes. In all there was 18.08 grams of ecstasy, with a street value of between £110 and £210. There was 23.4 grams of the anaesthetic Ketamine, worth between £351 and £468, 19.71 grams of herbal skunk cannabis valued at £197 and 15.8 grams of cannabis resin worth about £150.

Scales, a Samsung phone used to contact his customers and £471.10p were also recovered.

Laskowsky, now of Calshot Way, Enfield, pleaded guilty at an earlier hearing to possessing ecstasy with intent to supply, two counts of possessing cannabis with intent and one of possessing Ketamine with intent. He had not previous conviction, reprimands or cautions.

Harry Bentley, defending, said Laskowsky was unemployed and on benefits, having lost the job he had with an agency. He said Laskowsky had been struggling financially and had developed a dependency on skunk cannabis. He said he had been in a stable relationship for 18 months and had a three year old son from a previous relationship.

Mr Bentley said: “It was low level drug supply to support his own drug habit while he was unemployed.”

Judge Stephen Gullick sentenced him to 18 months’ custody saying: “If you want to get involved in drug dealing you are going to spend time in custody.”
