Festive lights are due to go on in four neighbourhoods on Saturday.

There will be Christmas carols at St Alban’s Church in Warners End Road from 4.15pm on Saturday, then by a Christmas lights switch-on in nearby Stoneycroft at 4.30pm. Free mince pies will be handed out in the shopping precinct’s Tesco store.

The Christmas lights in Chaulden shopping precinct will go on at 5.30pm, followed by refreshments at nearby St George’s Church.

They will be switched on in Henry Wells Square, Grovehill, at 6.30pm, where Dacorum Community Choir will sing and mince pies will be handed out from its Tesco store.

Hemel Hempstead MP Mike Penning will turn on the lights in all three areas, but can’t make it to turn on the lights in The Queen’s Square, Adeyfield, at 4.30pm that day.

Madeleine Taggart-Smith, spokesman for Dacorum Borough Council, which helped fund the lights, said no one has yet been chosen to turn on Adeyfield’s lights.
