Shoppers picked up some festive bargains when the mayor hosted his Christmas fair.

It was organised by charity stalwart Martin Crowhurst and was held in an empty retail unit at Riverside Shopping Centre.

Martin has put together several fundraising events for Dacorum Mayor Bert Chapman, who is supporting the Iain Rennie Grove House Hospice during his year in office.

The festive sale raked in a further £200 for the good cause.

So far Councilor Chapman has raised £9,000 for the charity that helps look after patients facing life-limiting illnesses.

He said: “The things Martin has organised for my charity have been fantastic.

“He has really put himself out. A big thank you from me for everything he is doing for my charity.”
