Former Olympian from Hemel Hempstead pushes Wiggins to gold

A FORMER Olympian from Hemel Hempstead helped Great Britain towards its second gold medal by giving Bradley Wiggins his push-off.

Cyclist Matt Stephens held Bradley up at the start as he took off for the time trial at Hampton Court.

This comes exactly twenty years after Matt himself competed in the individual men’s road race at the 1992 Barcelona games.

After giving the most decorated British Olympian the final push on his way to gold, Matt tweeted: “That was quite something... Still got goosebumps from Brad’s start.”
