Hitchcock films restored
Nine long-forgotten silent films by Alfred Hitchcock are being restored to their former glory.
The restorative work is at the British Film Institute's archives in Kingshill Way, Berkhamsted.
BFI archive spokesman Brian Robinson said: "This is the Rolls Royce of film restoration."
Hitchcock was internationally acclaimed as a Hollywood mastermind for films like Vertigo, North by Northwest, Psycho and The Birds in the 1950s and 60s.
But BFI archive spokesman Brian Robinson said: "Even in 1926, he was hailed as a genius in Britain."
