Hosepipe ban lifted in Tring but not in Hemel Hempstead and Berkhamsted

THE water firm that serves Tring will lift its hosepipe ban tomorrow (Thursday).

But people in Hemel Hempstead and Berkhamsted will remain under the restriction as the area’s provider Veolia Water has decided to keep its hosepipe ban, introduced on April 5, in force.

Richard Aylard, from Thames Water, said: “Since we imposed the Temporary Use Ban we have received an extraordinary amount of rain.

“We are really pleased we can now lift the ban but, with groundwater levels still low and the possibility of a third successive dry winter, we still need to be careful. We don’t need a ban, but we do need to ask everyone to keep on using water wisely.”
