Learning the ropes with scouts

Scouts hope to have attracted some adult volunteers after putting on activity sessions for big kids.

Grown-ups tried their hand at archery, high ropes, wall climbing and zip wires during the weekend event at Phasels Wood Scout Camp.

It was put on in partnership with the BBC which promoted the adventure days as part of its ThrillSeeker scheme, which aims to get people doing more outdoors.

Around 30 adults and youngsters took part in activities running at the scout camp on Saturday and Sunday (March 13-14). Another event aimed at the parents of scouts is planned for the autumn.

If you would like to volunteer to help out call the Herts Scouts office on 0208 236 0040 or email admin@hertfordshirescouts.org.uk.
