Man robbed of wallet and shoes

A MAN was robbed of his wallet and shoes as he made his way home in Berkhamsted after a night out.

The 22-year-old was walking along an alley from Woodlands Avenue to Hilltop when he was struck from behind and knocked to the ground.

He was kicked and punched around the body and head and possibly lost consciousness.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the attack, which took place just after midnight on Tuesday.

Det Con Spencer Dicks said: “This was a nasty robbery which has left the victim with bruising to the side of his face, grazed knuckles and pain in his left knee.

“I would urge anyone who may have been in the Woodlands Avenue area prior to or after the incident or who may have heard or seen anything to get in touch.”

Anyone with information is asked to call Det Con Dicks on 101 quoting crime reference number D2/12/121 or alternatively Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
